violet is two!

I cannot believe that my beautiful little wildflower, the one I so desired and prayed for for so many months, the one who has changed every part of my being for the better... 

she is two years old today.

Violet Pea, you are strong and capable, you feel and love so deeply, you are determined and deeply curious, and you are loved beyond measure.

We were so lucky to be able to celebrate our girl with all of her grandparents and most of her aunts, many of our Houston friends, and even with baby sister this weekend. We had tacos, we colored, we devoured some cake, and we had the best time.

Happy Birthday, Violet!

...and I think she enjoyed AB's gift the most - playing with the hose while we party prepped!

week 38

       Our sweet little lamb is finally here, healthy, and home! We are all swooning over her constantly, and Violet is the most adoring big sister to her "Lilia." We are of course still adjusting to life as a party of four, but so far the transition has been much easier than I expected. But maybe that's just because everything seems easy peasy compared to having a nursing babe in the NICU and a toddler whose world is flipped upside down waiting at home. We are grateful beyond words for our dear friends who played with Violet during our crazy labor and hospital stay, for every kind word and prayer, for our family and friends who made Violet's birthday party so special, and for our family members who have coordinated help and care during this crazy and beautiful time. 

If you think our hands are full, you should see our hearts. They're bursting.
