hates: formula/expressed breastmilk, laying on her back, when mom leaves the room
After struggling to gain weight for months, our girl is finally packing on the pounds! In the last month she's gained nearly two pounds without getting taller. This is probably due to her newfound love of food. She's not fond of purees, but L loves all sorts of fruits (berries & apples) and veggies (squash, asparagus, green beans), puffs, and rice. I was so worried about how she would get by during my half marathon since she needs to nurse every two hours and I knew it would take me longer. But I packed up some snacks and she did just fine, nursing at the starting and finish lines!
In the last month I feel like L has really entered into a transition out of babyhood, and it's so bittersweet. She's developing a unique personality, she's scooting, grabbing things, feeding herself, and really playing with her sensory toys. She calls for her "dadda," she dances to songs she likes (mostly the theme songs to Friends and The Office), and she strokes my back and hair from the sling so sweetly. She is officially sleeping in her pack&play in our closet, but unofficially still joining our party on her second dream feed (you guys, I'm still too tired to sleep train, vicious cycle!). She reaches for all the food she sees, so we are constantly reminding (translate: hollering) at V not to feed her nuts and goldfish, and she chews on everything from teethers to pita chips to mom (it's been a paaaiiinnnnful two weeks guys).
Speaking of teethers, we also joined the Vintage Honey team this month where we represent (basically model) beautiful teething and nursing necklaces.
